William R. "Bobby" Love
William R. "Bobby" Love, 79, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family. Bobby was born December 31, 1932 and was a lifelong resident of Savannah. He was a 1952 graduate of Benedictine Military School where he participated in basketball, and was elected to the Georgia Allstate Basketball Team. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving in North Africa. He was a State Farm Insurance Company agent, retiring after 30 years of service. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a former member of Lavida Country Club.
Bobby was an avid fisherman, and golfer. He loved to cook gumbo and spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irita Love, two sons, Michael Love Beth, and Mark Love Penny, six grandchildren, Ashley Vick, Matthew Love, Allyson McAbee, Kristen Yates, Savana Love, and Tyler Love, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, and three brothers.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 12391 Mercy Blvd., Savannah.
Remembrances may be made to Bethesda Home for Boys, or Trinity Lutheran Church.
